Manchester Day 2017

Manchester Day 2017

Cathedral Gardens is built on a site of ancient significance aligned along a North-South axis. Originally the site had clear views of the River Irwell, which represents a pathway to a world beyond the one we can perceive. By the long count of the solar calendar the custodians of this knowledge are aware that certain 'mysterious' (i.e. unknowable to those uninitiated) rites must be performed on the day denoted as 18.6.17 in the Gregorian calendar, and as Manchester Day by the marketing board of Manchester City Council. By travelling over the sacred ground and performing the life cycle of physical invocation the current custodians of the rites will ensure that a powerful magic is continued and that the sun will continue to rise in the East and set in the West in line with the altars which currently adorn the gardens.
